About Me

~:~ Connie Jean ~:~

Born November 17th, 1979

I was born in Detroit, Michigan at Macomb County Hospital during a football game. I am a . My parent’s names are Danny and Kathy. They are wonderful people to get to know. A bit on the hickish side at times, but you would fall in love with them if you met them. They both have a golden heart and it is filled with the love of Christ. They were not always Christians. Both came to know God in the summer of 1995 after my Dad had a really bad bout of problems. He went from total health to complete depression, pneumonia, and emphysema. He quit smoking. And one day off they went together to find a church so they could speak with a Pastor. It just so happened that there was a Pastor on the hill and they found themselves on his doorstep that day. When I came home later on, I learned that they had accepted Christ into their lives. What a joyous experience to watch my Mom and Dad be baptized and filled with God’s Holy Spirit, our Loving Comforter! They reside in Ohio, where I attended middle and high school.

I have an older brother named Scott. He’s eight years older than I. Growing up, we had very little in common. Nowadays though I greatly enjoy our weekly hour plus long phone chats. He’s a great Christian, loving, and sincere. And I pray continually for God’s blessings to rain down on him. He still lives in Michigan, only about an hour from our old hometown area. Scott works for a printing company and he also has his own business at home. He’s my host online (love you Bubby!) and he’s always very helpful with solving problems. I even forgive him for using a mac. LOL :0)

There were 32 of these … … on my last birthday !

I am a Christian.

I came to know Christ by being introduced to Chesapeake Christian Church by my high school best friend. Her name is Chris (Christie). From there, I met many teenagers and adults and over time, the Lord worked His hands into my life, my heart, and my very being. At an Ohio Teens for Christ convention, April 10th, 1993, I found myself in tears and walking down that aisle to accept Jesus as my Lord and Savior. I’ve never been the same since. Most of the youth group came down and we all hugged and prayed (I wasn’t the only one to go forward that night either). On April 11th, Easter Sunday, I was immersed by Youth Pastor Larry Napier. I will never forget that day. It was my beginning…

I am married.

In 1999, I joined the chatting world once again and found a great guy. His name is John. Two months after meeting online, we started cyber dating. Two and a half months after that we met for the first time. Two weeks after John left, I moved to California to be with him. I have never looked back. I do not regret my choices. The past ten years of knowing John has been rocky and rough but mostly loving and enjoyable. He’s a great man. Fun, energetic, hard working, humorous, adventurous, outrageous at times, oh and I could go on. With him came his family of which I couldn’t have asked for any better. His parents are James and Kathleen. I love them and enjoy spending time with them especially Kathy. She’s an avid crafter / quilter / scrapper / etc and fun to be around. John also has an older brother, Jim. He’s six yrs older than John (making him old enough to be my father, LOL).

John is a Pisces. His 45th birthday has already passed!

I am a Mommy.

Actually, I am a stay at home mommy and couldn’t love it more. In March of 2001, I gave birth via c-section to Hannah Cheyenne. And then again in June of 2003, I gave birth to Benjamin Andrew also via c-section. Hannah’s was a crash; Benjamin’s was scheduled. They are roughly twenty-seven months apart. They are 11yrs & 8yrs old now…where does time go?!?!

I am a Homeschooling Mom.

I began homeschooling in the Fall of 2007 and am LOVING it. This Spring (2012) Hannah is now in 5th grade and Benjamin is a 3rd grader. We use a mixed curriculum and I find a lot of information via online sites. I absolutely would NOT give up homeschooling for anything in the world. Time spent with my children on a day to day basis? PRICELESS. Knowing that they are learning what matters and not dealing with public school junk? PRICELESS. Knowing in my heart that we are doing what God would want? Beyond PRICELESS…

Domestic Goddess

Yep, you read me right, LOL. I didn’t say I liked it, I just stated a fact about me.

Well, in being honest, if I had to choose my favorite cleaning chore it would be laundry. Yep, I hear the shock. Close those mouths! Stop staring, LOL. But really, ever since hubby bought me the new Maytag Neptunes… oh my! They clean so well and everything looks so much better. It’s a joy. I no longer have to beat the dryer half to death to get the gas to turn on. (long story, you do not wanna know!). It’s a great thing. I just wish someone else could put clothes away. I don’t mind folding b/c I usually do that while jamming to Christian rock, but the hanging up and going to each room. grrr!

My least favorite chore? Picking up after other people !!! Oh and mopping. Blech.

Chocolate Lover What else is there to say here? I love that yummy ooey gooey chocolate. I don’t care in what form it comes in (well, okay, there are some things that are simply divine and some that may be grody like chocolate grasshoppers or smth dumb like that)… but most chocolate is good chocolate. And it is your friend! It never leaves. Believe me, long after you’ve eaten it, it’s still there gripping onto the sides of my bum or thighs… or even my stomache. But I still love the stuff. It’s a torture I put myself through far too often… Mmmm…

Other Miscellaneous Tidbits

My weight is significantly higher than it should be and I am trying to lose weight.

My hobbies include scrapbooking, rubber stamping, cross stitching, embroidery, sewing, and learning to quilt. I love to read books and have far too many of them lining my shelves. Have kept a journal since the fifth grade when my parent’s bought me one for my birthday. Enjoy writing stories, poetry, journal entries, and editorials.

I love playing on the computer. Learn new stuff everyday. Enjoy visiting other people’s sites and seeing their wonderful work and keeping up with their lives.
